Olivia Gerrard

1st year digital marketing apprentice

Age: 19

I’m Olivia and I’ve been working at Architectural Plants since July 2021. After completing my A-levels, I knew I didn’t want to go to uni straight away, so I decided to search for a job. After listening to Guy give a talk at my college I emailed in. I have a huge passion for indoor plants and Guy’s enthusiasm had me hooked. The possibility of working surrounded by rare and exotic of plants was too much to resist. I asked if there was an opportunity for a marketing role and the next week I was starting at AP! I’m now their Marketing Assistant and this year they have agreed to sponsor me in studying for a Digital Marketing degree apprenticeship. I am very grateful to have this opportunity, a big thank you to AP Homegrown for supporting me through this.

Dan Hillen

Nursery production team & graduate apprentice

Age: 20

Hi, I'm Dan. I began working as soon as I left school in 2017 not really sure about what I wanted to do. I got a job working on a 16-acre private garden estate maintaining the grounds. I wanted to push myself to a more professional level and got in touch with Architectural Plants, had a few trials days and had so much fun I thought an apprenticeship could be a fantastic opportunity for me. Over my time here I have learnt so much, acquired many new skills and met a range of great new people.

I have been at AP for 3 years now and have developed a passion for all things horticultural. I’m proud to be AP's first graduate apprentice.
